The Hard and Soft Palate Diagram

Hard palate (maxilla/palatine bones) forms anterior roof of mouth; soft palate (muscular: tensor/levator veli palatini, palatoglossus/pharyngeus) hangs posteriorly with uvula. It separates oral/nasal cavities during swallowing.
