Axillary Nodes Image

The axillary nodes are a group of lymph nodes located in the axillary (or armpit) region of the body.
Lymph nodes Although the axilla is partially imaged on mammography, axillary lymph nodes can often be seen. Classically, benign axillary lymph nodes typically are smaller than 2 cm in maximal size and have a hilar radiolucent notch. Increased size and/or increased density of a node on mammography raises concern for pathology.
