Human Organ Systems

Gastrointestinal. Urinary. Musculoskeletal. Nervous. Reproductive. Immune. An organ system is a group of organs that work together to perform a complex function. There are eleven organ systems in the human body. All of these are required for survival, either of the person or of the species.
1 Circulatory System. The main function of the circulatory system is to transport nutrients … 2 Digestive System. The digestive system breaks down food polymers into smaller molecules … 3 Endocrine System. The endocrine system regulates vital processes in the body including growth, …
Each group of organs has a different complex function, such as movement, breathing, or digestion. In some cases, one organ system works closely with another on a particular task. For example, the endocrine system interacts with the gastrointestinal system to control digestion.

Nervous System

The nervous system or the neural is a complex network of nerve cells or neurons specialized to carry messages. The complexity of the nervous system increases as we move towards higher animals. In simple organisms, especially in the invertebrates, neural system is just a network of neurons.

It is the body’s communication system that controls much of what your body does. It allows you to do things like walk, speak, swallow, breathe and learn, and controls how your body reacts in an emergency. Your nervous system is made up of: your peripheral nervous system, which consists of nerves that connect your CNS to the rest of your body

Thus, the nervous coordination involves the participation of the sense organs, nerves, spinal cord, and brain. One of the most complex organ system to ever evolve, the human nervous system consists of two parts, namely: Central Nervous System (CNS) is often called the central processing unit of the body.

Lungs Diagram

Labeled Diagram of the Human Lungs Lungs are an excellent example of how several tissues can be compactly arranged, yet providing a large surface area for gaseous exchange. The current article provides a labeled diagram of the human lungs as well as a description of the parts and their functions.

The lungs are a pair of spongy, air-filled organs located on either side of the chest (thorax). The trachea (windpipe) conducts inhaled air into the lungs through its tubular branches, called bronchi. The bronchi then divide into smaller and smaller branches (bronchioles), finally becoming microscopic.

The lungs begin at the bottom of your trachea (windpipe). The trachea is a tube that carries the air in and out of your lungs. Each lung has a tube called a bronchus that connects to the trachea.

Human Teeth

Teeth are hard structures found exclusively in all vertebrates. Granted, some invertebrates have analogous “teeth”, but they are quite different in their structure and functions. There are different types of teeth found in humans.
The human teeth dental chart illustrates the types and working surfaces of the four classes of teeth. A tooth is a hard, bony appendage that develops on the jaw to pulverize food. In man, the design of the teeth is a reflection of eating habits, as humans tend to be meat eaters so teeth are formed for cutting, tearing, and grinding food.
1 Incisors. Incisors are present at the front of the mouth. … 2 Canines. Canines are also called cuspids. … 3 Premolars. Premolars are also called bicuspids and are located behind the canines. … 4 Molars. Molars are the largest and strongest teeth. … 5 Wisdom Teeth. Wisdom teeth also referred to as the third set of molars. …

Human Eye

Human eye, specialized sense organ in humans that is capable of receiving visual images, which are relayed to the brain. The anatomy of the eye includes auxiliary structures, such as the bony eye socket and extraocular muscles, as well as the structures of the eye itself, such as the lens and the retina.
Photons of light falling on the light-sensitive cells of the retina ( photoreceptor cones and rods) are converted into electrical signals that are transmitted to the brain by the optic nerve and interpreted as sight and vision. The size of the eye differs among adults by only one or two millimetres.
The human eye operates as similar to a digital camera in several ways: Light focuses mainly on the cornea, which acts like a camera lens. The iris controls the light that reaches the eye by adjusting the size of the pupil, and thus it functions like the diaphragm of a camera. The lens of the eye is located behind the pupil, and it focuses light.

Human Ear

(Show more) human ear, organ of hearing and equilibrium that detects and analyzes sound by transduction (or the conversion of sound waves into electrochemical impulses) and maintains the sense of balance (equilibrium). How humans and other mammals perceive sound.
In earth, most of the mammals have an external ear. The ear is the part of our Auditory system. The part of the ear that is visible from outside is called Pinna. Being mammals, humans also have ears. Ears are located on both sides of the brain within the temporal bones of the skull.
Structure. The human ear consists of three parts—the outer ear, middle ear and inner ear. The ear canal of the outer ear is separated from the air-filled tympanic cavity of the middle ear by the eardrum.
